Yesterday, during a coaching session, a client and I talked about the magic in this process, connecting over Michelangelo’s powerful words: “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”

Michelangelo didn’t “create” his statues—he revealed them. He saw the masterpiece already inside and removed everything that wasn’t part of the vision. This mirrors how my client approaches her creative process. She starts with a raw “dump” of ideas, often questioning if this messiness is productive. Yet, like Michelangelo with his chisel, she works patiently, peeling away each layer until the core message, the real art, shines through.

For those of us building businesses, there’s wisdom here. Scaling income and impact often starts in this cluttered phase, with ideas everywhere. Yet as we refine, strip away the distractions, and focus on our vision, that’s when true beauty emerges.
